  • Will’s farewell

We said goodbye to Will today. He attended most of the session before being joined by Lizi. He was presented with a framed photograph taken at the recent concert and a gift voucher. A lot of food and drink was organised by the Baris and Basses. The departure was accompanied by the introduction of a…

  • Joint concert with Synergy and Harmony InSpires – 8th July

This took place at the Wesley Memorial Church on New Inn Hall Street at the centre of Oxford. We were first up to sing: Harmony InSpires appeared next. Their performance was most enjoyable as they sang in their usual accomplished manner. After this Synergy did a great set. Finally all three choruses got together to…

  • Social with Synergy, Harmony InSpires and partners – 7th July

This event held at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot was a great success with an excellent turnout. Synergy includes an excellent quartet which sang for those assembled. We also heard from Harmony InSpires, Oxford Harmony and Kitchen Chorus who bravely tried Liverpool Street Station.

  • Convention – 2023

Most travelled down to Bournemouth for the day where we sang Blue Skies and Somewhere over the rainbow under the direction of Will Prior. It was a most enjoyable experience – however we failed to impress the judges. Their assessment, shown below, records many positive things about our performance.

  • Coronation Fun in the park – Abingdon – 2023

We had a stall at this event which ran from 10:00 to 15:00 and was followed by bun throwing from the County Hall. We were able to hand out a good number of flyers to those who seemed interested. The morning was rather quiet, but by the afternoon the sun had come out and it…

It uses individual posts which can be pushed onto facebook. This allows us to provide information on facebook with minimal effort. It would also be easy to push to…

  • Funeral of John Bainbridge

John died on New Year’s day just a few months short of his ninetieth birthday. Many of his large family, including his wife Sylvia along with a good number of our members were crowded into St Matthew’s Church, Harwell and afterwards at La Fontana in East Hanney to say goodbye to a longstanding member of…

  • Oxford Music Festival – 2023

We sang My Evaline, Shenandoah and Mary Lou and were given a commendation by Stephen Carleston the adjudicator. Unfortunately we were let down by inaccurate pitch and were narrowly beaten by Harmony InSpires.

  • Ray Spinks Remembered

Former member Ray passed away peacefully in hospital in late December ’22 after having spent a few months in a local care home due to his onset of dementia. Oxford Harmony sang to the care home residents and staff on the lead-up to Christmas although sadly Ray had already moved to the hospital by then.…

  • Graham Cox

One of our three long time Honorary Members Graham Cox sadly passed away in October just after having achieved his 94th birthday. Graham hadn’t sung with us for the last few years but maintained an interest and his BABS membership. He was a member of Oxford Harmony’s predecessor White Horse Harmony and was also involved…
